Why do an ultrasound?
Common reasons why an ultrasound would be done include pain, swelling/masses, vomiting, changes in bowel habit such as constipation/diarrhea, bleeding per vaginum, concerns about the development of a foetus and other reasons.
Do I need to prepare for an ultrasound scan?
Yes, some scans do require preparation such as fasting or drinking water or holding the urine.
